
Jinja, Uganda | 27 September 2025 — Opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) today officially launched his 2026 presidential campaign in Jinja District, unveiling an 11-point manifesto before a massive crowd of supporters.
Speaking with passion and energy, Bobi Wine promised a “complete reset” of Uganda’s governance, pledging reforms across key sectors including education, health, agriculture, and public accountability.
He accused the current administration of corruption and inequality, saying:
“This is not about me; it is about building a country that works for everyone — not just a privileged few.”

His manifesto highlights include:
- Restoring constitutional term limits.
- Free education at both primary and secondary levels.
- Strengthening rural health centers and hospitals.
- Reviving local industries to create jobs for the youth.
- Fighting corruption through independent oversight bodies.
Security was heavily deployed across Jinja, but the event went on peacefully. The National Unity Platform (NUP) urged calm, unity, and non-violence as the campaign season officially gathers momentum.
